Three-Hundred and Fifty Good Deeds

Tue Mar 24, 2009, 4:32 PM
  • Mood: Regretful
  • Listening to: 'The Rainmaker' by Iron Maiden
  • Reading: ... over my list of good deeds
  • Watching: ... the monitor
  • Playing: Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
  • Eating: Nothing
  • Drinking: Chocolate Milkshake
It feels good to have done more than a third of the 1000 good deeds :) Unfortunately I seem to be doing less as the stress of 6th Form takes its toll. Some times you have to help yourself before you're in any state to help others.

– I sent Alise a parcel containing the portrait I drew of her, a ‘Me To You’ Bear, A ‘;Phantom of the Opera’ DVD, a variety of chocolates and beautiful photos of show her where I lived.
– I helped dismantle my bed so that it could be sold.
– I helped Sebastian load the separate parts of the bed into his car.
– I helped assemble the furniture for my new room and decorate it.
– I carried my wardrobe downstairs so someone could pick it and helped them load it into their car.
– I explained to Aarti how to solve some quadratic equations to help her with some Maths homework.
– I suggested that my Form support the MS Society for the school charity week to try and help my dad.
– I spent my lunchtime selling raffle tickets to raise money for the charity.
– I spent my free period counting all the money we’d collected to see how much we’d raised during the week.
– I always help Rachel H, Rachel T, Andriy and Reece with their Maths homework.
– I helped Alex, Fiona and Oscar find all nine combinations to Mr Scott’s resistor challenge.
– I helped my twin derive a formula to calculate the extension of a spring in Physics.
– I taught Jess how to write Solarian. Reward – A letter written in Solarian.
– I then wrote her a private letter in Solarian to try and make her feel better about things that were happening at school and made her a paper frog/envelope to keep it in.
– I gave Fiona my paper frog that I’d engineered to bounce and spring forwards.
– I taught Ben how to do some basic functions in Microsoft FrontPage to get him started with web page design.
– I digitally designed and created the 2008 Christmas card representing my school. Reward – Mrs Roberts sent me a copy of the manufactured card with a 'thank you' message inside.
– I taught Jess everything I know about Photoshop. Reward – A kiss on the cheek.
– I helped Andy with his Further Maths homework.
– I gave Thomas advice on what to get his girlfriend for her birthday and Christmas.
– I drew a portrait of Jess and me, and then gave it to her as a birthday present. Reward – Another kiss on the cheek.
– I also bought her Wall-E on DVD and made her a disk containing Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition and Apophysis for Christmas. Reward – Two Doctor Who DVDs, a bag of Thornton's Alpines, and a mixed CD.
– I volunteered to make the PowerPoint presentation that was the major part of a one hour lesson on 'ICT in business' that my group had to teach to the rest of my ICT class.
– I looked after many of my friends during and after various Christmas parties.
– I bought Megan a High School Musical card (intended for a six year old) for her sixteenth birthday.
– I offered to walk with Jisun to school when she had nobody to walk with.
– I wrote up all of the mechanics formulae I could think of for Alexander so that he could use them to revise from and prepare for the first AS Physics module exam.
– I created a digital representation of Artemendo’s deviation, Die Guy.
– I used my lunch money of the school system to buy a drink for my parched brother.
– I bought Megan and Oscar crispy cakes. Reward – A group hug.
– I helped Alex, Alexander, Arón and Oscar with their Physics homework.
– I helped Davy, Laura and Oscar with the Statistics homework.
– I showed Laura how to transfer photos from an SD card onto her user area.
– I act as Ms. Hitchcock's ICT consultant. Reward – She gave me some photo paper for free.
– I let Oscar borrow my Maths and Physics notes so that he could catch up on some work he’d missed.
– I always scan and photocopy things for my mum.
– I taught my gran how to use Skype.
– I fixed my granddad’s internet problems.
– I also created a database for him that he could use to keep track of his tools.
– I bought a bottle of juice for Jess.
– I created an automated letter, leaflet, logo, menu and website for Youth Café, the youth group I go to.
– I taught Oscar how to integrate and gave him hints on how to do the Maths homework.
– I talked with Becki about some school-related problems she was having, particularly an upcoming parent’s evening.
– I gave Kate advice on what to say to someone when turning them down gently.
– I taught Sophie some AS Level Maths to make her GCSE Maths exam easier. Reward – She cheered me up.
– I taught Reece how to calculate Spearman’s Rank correlation coefficient.
– I wrote up all of the electricity of wave properties formulae I could think of for Alexander so that he could use them to revise from and prepare for the last AS Physics module exam.
– I always help Andy, Ben, Chloe and Rachel by teaching them some skills that could up their ICT coursework marks.
– I helped my twin with his Art exam by pointing out a painting he could relate this work to.
– I promised to solve my older brother’s Rubik’s Cube for him.
